Partnerships are a major part of how Shepherd Community Center meets neighbors’ needs on the near Eastside of Indianapolis.
The benefits of partnerships flow in both directions, as one of those partners, the Central Indiana Woodworkers, recently noted while presenting a plaque to Shepherd as a show of appreciation for supporting the organization’s activities.
“Last year, Shepherd Community provided vital support for the Central Indiana Woodworkers booth at the Indiana State Fair,” Jim Keivel, president of the Woodworkers, said. ”During the fair, we host a Kids Construction Zone, where children can make spinning tops, and Shepherd employees assisted us in managing this activity.”
Keivel noted that each year the Woodworkers make 10,000 toys for children who may not otherwise receive gifts at Christmas.
“Central Indiana Woodworkers and Shepherd have a strong partnership dedicated to supporting our community,” Keivel said. “The plaque was presented to show our sincere appreciation for Shepherd Community’s support throughout 2025.”
